Using OEM-grade software, our technicians connect directly to the truck’s ECM to pull active and stored fault codes, monitor live sensor data across the fuel, air, and emissions circuits, and evaluate system performance before any repair recommendation is made.

Beyond the electronic scan, mechanical testing is performed before any estimate is given. Compression testing, cylinder leak-down analysis, oil condition assessment, and fuel pressure checks give our technicians a complete mechanical picture — not just what the computer reports.

Turbocharger failure is one of the most common causes of power loss and excessive smoke on Class 8 diesel engines. Our technicians perform a full turbo inspection covering bearing wear, compressor wheel condition, shaft play, wastegate operation, and actuator response — determining whether rebuild, repair, or replacement is appropriate.

Beyond the turbo itself, we inspect the full air intake path — from the air filter housing and intake boots to the charge air cooler and all associated plumbing. Cracked intercooler boots and clogged charge air coolers are frequently overlooked causes of ongoing turbo and engine issues.

The diesel fuel system operates under extreme pressure and precision tolerances. Injector performance is tested on each cylinder to identify balance issues, spray pattern problems, and return rate failures. Worn or dirty injectors are cleaned, tested, and replaced using quality components matched to the engine platform.

Fuel pump diagnosis covers both the low-pressure lift pump and the high-pressure injection pump. We evaluate delivery volume, pressure consistency, and pump timing to identify failures that cause hard starts, misfires, or power loss. Leak-down testing of the high-pressure common rail system is performed where applicable.

EGR system failures — including stuck valves, clogged coolers, and failed pressure sensors — are among the most frequent causes of power loss, excessive idle smoke, and fault code-driven derate conditions. We clean, test, and replace EGR valves and inspect EGR coolers for internal leaks and coolant contamination.

Diesel particulate filter service covers forced regeneration, cleaning, flow testing, and replacement when cleaning is no longer effective. We monitor filter ash load, check differential pressure sensors, and verify that the complete regeneration system — including the diesel oxidation catalyst — is functioning correctly.

Cylinder head work at Torpedo covers head gasket replacement, valve seat machining, valve seal replacement, and full head resurfacing where required. Every head repair begins with a crack inspection and pressure test before and after machining to verify structural integrity before reinstallation.

Engine valve adjustment — setting lash to manufacturer specification across all cylinders — is performed as a standalone tune-up service and as part of any major engine repair. Proper valve lash is critical to engine longevity and fuel efficiency and is often overlooked in standard maintenance schedules.

Engine overheating is one of the leading causes of catastrophic diesel engine damage. Our technicians trace overheating complaints through the complete cooling system — thermostat operation, water pump flow, radiator core condition, coolant concentration, and cap pressure test — identifying the root cause before recommending any repair.

Oil leaks are traced systematically using UV dye and pressure testing rather than guesswork. Common diesel engine leak sources — rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gaskets, turbo oil feed lines, and front timing cover seals — are addressed with quality replacement parts and a post-repair verification.
