What We Service

Emergency Road Services

Mobile emergency repair throughout the Tacoma freight corridor
01

True 24/7 Mobile Dispatch

When you call Torpedo at 2 AM, a technician answers — not a voicemail, not an answering service. Our emergency road service operates around the clock because breakdowns do not schedule themselves around business hours. We dispatch with the tools and parts most commonly needed for roadside repairs on Class 6 through Class 8 trucks and trailers.

Service coverage spans the Seattle-Tacoma freight corridor, including I-5, Highway 167, SR-99, and connecting routes through Fife, Tacoma, Auburn, Federal Way, and surrounding areas. When you call, we confirm your location and dispatch the closest available technician with the equipment matched to your described situation.

  • Live technician answers every emergency call — no voicemail
  • GPS-tracked dispatch with estimated arrival time provided on every call
  • Service area covers the full I-5 and 167 freight corridor

Roadside Diagnostics

Our emergency service vehicles carry OEM-compatible diagnostic equipment for all major truck platforms — Freightliner, Volvo, Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Mack, and Western Star. Fault codes pulled at the roadside give our technicians a clear picture of the failure before any components are removed, allowing accurate parts ordering and faster resolution.

Derate and limp-mode conditions are diagnosed at the roadside with the same software used in our shop. Some derate conditions can be resolved with a parameter reset, a forced regen, or a sensor replacement performed at the breakdown location — getting the truck moving without a tow. We always attempt roadside resolution before recommending a tow to minimize your downtime.

  • DEF system and aftertreatment faults diagnosed and cleared when possible roadside
  • Sensor replacement and wiring repair available at breakdown location
  • Parts ordered immediately when roadside diagnosis confirms component failure
03

Air Brake And Tire Repair

Air brake failures are among the most common roadside emergencies on Class 8 trucks. Our emergency vehicles carry brake chambers, air lines, glad hand seals, and brake adjustment tools to handle the majority of air brake failures at the roadside — including blown chambers, leaking airline fittings, and failed glad hand seals that cause air loss on the trailer circuit.

Roadside tire service covers tire dismounting and mounting on the truck using portable equipment, tire repair for repairable punctures, and tire inflation to correct pressure. We carry the most common truck tire sizes for drive and trailer positions as emergency replacements — allowing us to get the truck rolling without waiting for a tire delivery.

  • Brake chamber replacement performed at the breakdown location
  • Air line and fitting repair using correct fittings and line materials
  • Emergency tire replacement available for common drive and trailer sizes
04

Fuel And Fluid Service

Running out of fuel — or DEF — is a common roadside situation that strands trucks and trailers far from the nearest truck stop. Our emergency vehicles carry diesel fuel and DEF for emergency delivery to the breakdown location, getting the truck started and moving to the nearest fueling point without a tow.

Emergency fluid service also covers coolant top-off for overheating situations where the truck can be safely moved to a shop after coolant is restored. We assess the cause of the fluid loss before adding fluid — adding coolant to a truck with a blown head gasket or a catastrophic leak that will drain immediately is not a solution, and we communicate that clearly before any fluid is added.

  • DEF emergency delivery available for trucks in selective catalytic reduction derate
  • Engine oil emergency top-off for low oil pressure situations
  • Power steering fluid emergency service for total steering fluid loss
05

On-Site Engine And Mechanical Repair

Some roadside situations require more than a quick fix — our technicians carry tools for on-site mechanical repairs including injector replacement, EGR valve replacement, coolant hose and clamp repair, alternator replacement, and starter replacement. These repairs are performed at the breakdown location when the failure is confirmed and parts are available.

Trailer mechanical repair at the roadside covers landing gear failures, kingpin locking mechanism issues, landing gear drive shaft repair, and structural damage assessment. A trailer that cannot be safely coupled or released at a dock is a freight delay — we respond to trailer mechanical failures with the same urgency as truck breakdowns.

  • Common wear parts and filters carried on emergency service vehicles
  • Repair scope confirmed with owner before any roadside mechanical work begins
  • Detailed invoice provided for all roadside work performed
06

Safety And DOT Roadside Compliance

A roadside breakdown near traffic is a safety situation as much as a mechanical one. Our technicians arrive with proper warning triangles, reflective gear, and lighting for the breakdown location — managing the scene safely before any mechanical work begins. We follow all FMCSA roadside worker safety procedures on every emergency call.

When a roadside repair involves a safety system — brakes, tires, or lighting — we confirm the repair meets the minimum DOT roadside compliance standard before the truck is cleared to move. A truck that is moved with a brake out-of-service condition creates liability and safety risk. We document the repair and advise on the fastest path to full compliance.

  • Full written repair documentation provided for every emergency service call
  • Brake and tire condition confirmed before clearing truck to move
  • Follow-up shop appointment recommended and scheduled after roadside repair when needed
